At our recent sparring day, our beginners took a big step in their Muay Thai journey, experiencing what it’s like to go the distance with 3 x 90 second rounds in the ring! Equipped with headgear, chest guards, and shin protection, they had a safe yet challenging experience applying the techniques they've learned in training. Listening to their coaching corners became crucial as they navigated the intensity of a live sparring match.
The event gave them a real taste of what it feels like to be under the spotlight, in front of an audience, while maintaining composure and focus. Beyond the physical challenge, it was an exciting opportunity to meet new friends from other Muay Thai gyms and cheer each other on! It was a fantastic day full of learning, adrenaline, and team spirit.
It is important to remember that sparring days are a good opportunity to challenge yourself and put all your hard work into practice. Test your endurance, technique, timing, how well you listen to your corner. They are not about trying to KO your opponent.
If you’re thinking of joining our next sparring day, show up to training, work hard and put in the extra effort and include running into your training.
